Vroon24 - 2024 movie out now!

Our 2024 Vroon24 safety celebrations took place on Tuesday 5 November, with the theme Supporting One Another. Our calling centre in Breda spoke to 64 vessels, starting with a chat with Chief Officer Ritchi Paredes on board Bison Express and ending with calls to Aberdeen-managed VOS Seeker and VOS Venturer.

Supporting one another is a vital element in making our workplace not only physically safe, but also emotionally and psychologically safe. Particularly at sea, it is important to foster a culture in which we look out for our colleagues, one that enables us to share and discuss any issues, work-related or personal, that may be affecting our physical or mental wellbeing. Long periods away from home, often testing working conditions, loneliness and family concerns are just some of the causes of mental-health problems amongst seafarers. Vroon24 2024 aimed to create a better understanding of such issues, and provide more information, support and helplines for our colleagues, both on- and offshore.

We asked our colleagues to think about what this topic means to them and how it forms part of their daily lives, both at home and at work. We have now compiled some of the videos and photos received in this Vroon24 movie, which we hope you will enjoy watching!
