Vroon sponsors OSJ Safety Award
2024 Safety Award goes to Olympic Subsea and ScanReach
Olympic Subsea and ScanReach have been announced as winners of the Offshore Support Journal (OSJ) Safety Award for 2024. Vroon is a proud sponsor of this prestigious annual Award, which was presented by Stuart Thom, Managing Director Vroon Offshore Services Aberdeen, at this week’s Annual OSJ Conference, Awards & Exhibition in London.
With safe practices forming the cornerstone of all our operations and everyday actions, celebrating new innovations in this field is very much in line with our ethos. At Vroon, we have a duty of care for the safety and health of our employees and for those we serve. We believe safety is a ‘mindset’ and an integral part of decision making.
The OSJ Safety Award goes to a company, person, project or product that has either set industry safety benchmarks and/or made the difference in terms of safety of life, property and environment in an offshore-support-vessel (OSV) operation or incident over the last 12 months. This year’s Award recognises Olympic Subsea’s innovative POB (person overboard) tracking system. Developed together with Scan Reach, and installed on board all Olympic Subsea support vessels, the system reduces rescue time, thereby improving safety for all personnel on board during an emergency.
Also nominated were:
- DNV for its DNV ST-0111 standard and DNV’s DP station-keeping capability analysis software;
- P&O Maritime Logistics - P&O AISA - The AI Safety Assistant;
- ADNOC Logistics & Services.
We congratulate Olympic Subsea and ScanReach on winning the Award, and applaud the three other shortlisted contenders for their well-deserved nominations.
