Vroon Offshore Services sponsors OSJ Safety Award
2023 Safety Award goes to Wärtsilä
Wärtsilä has been announced as winner of the Offshore Support Journal (OSJ) Safety Award for 2023. Vroon Offshore Services once again sponsored this annual Award, which was presented to Paul Kendall, Wärtsilä Director Sales DP Asia by Stuart Thom, VOS Aberdeen Managing Director during this week’s OSJ Conference in London.
The OSJ Safety Award goes to a company, person, project or product that has either set industry safety benchmarks and/or made the difference in terms of safety of life, property and environment in an offshore-support-vessel (OSV) operation or incident over the last 12 months.
Wärtsilä received the Award in recognition of their Wind Turbine Guard Zone, enhancing safety by providing both increased situational awareness and protecting the vessel and assets from potential allisions.
A second nomination for this year’s Award was DNV’s JIP on bottom impact and partially submerged conditions.
We congratulate Wärtsilä on winning the Award, and DNV for the well-deserved nomination.
At Vroon Offshore Services, we commit to safe practices in all our operations and everyday actions. We have a duty of care for the safety and health of our employees and for those we serve. We believe safety is a ‘mindset’ and an integral part of our decision making. We are, therefore, extremely proud to have the opportunity to sponsor the OSJ Safety Award.
