VOS Provider reaches safety milestone
Aberdeen ERRV celebrates 20 years’ LTI free
VOS Provider reached a major safety milestone on 9 May, when the vessel and her crew recorded an impressive 20 years without a lost-time incident (LTI).
“Completing two decades of LTI-free operations is a remarkable achievement for the captains and crew who have served on VOS Provider. Few vessels in our industry have such a fantastic safety record. It is a great achievement and testimony to our crews’ commitment to an excellent safety culture on board, the result of first-class teamwork and adherence to our Leaders in Safety Programme”, said Stuart Thom, VOS Aberdeen Managing Director. “On behalf of all at Vroon Offshore Services, I congratulate the crews – past and present - for their professionalism, hard work and constant focus on safe operations.”
To mark the occasion, a small celebration was held earlier this week, with representatives from the Aberdeen office and our client joining the crew on board. As well as the all-important cake, Stuart Thom presented a commemorative plaque to Captain Andy Woodcock (on the left).
Purpose built in 1999 in Germany, VOS Provider, is a Class-A emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) with the capacity to rescue 300+ survivors. One of VOS Aberdeen’s 34 modern ERRVs, she is presently deployed at the Jady Judy (J Block), Central North Sea for Chrysaor Production (U.K.) Limited. She has been serving this location with her multirole-vessel (MRV) capabilities since January 2011.
