Offshore Safety Awards winner
We are happy to announce that Able Seaman Arturs Stols won the Step Change in Safety’s 25th anniversary event and the Offshore Safety Awards Marine Category sponsored by the Maritime Safety Forum and supported by BP.
Arturs was nominated following the safety video that he had spent a year on making of VOS Innovator and crew conducting a Dacon Scoop rescue exercise.
He states that the main reason for making this video was simply because he wanted to be able to show his three-year old daughter some of the things that ‘daddy does’ whilst he is away at sea.
Arturs has been employed by Deeside (Guernsey) Ltd. since 2010 and has worked onboard several different Vroon Offshore Services Aberdeen vessels.
Arturs was one of seven nominees, reduced to three finalists selected in the Marine Category and was voted as being the overall winner by the attendees of the Offshore Safety Awards Ceremony held at the P&J Live in Aberdeen earlier in September.
